Welcome to Bradley University's Department of Computer Science & Information Systems (CS/IS).

Mission

The mission of the Department is to provide the highest quality education, training, and research environment for students, which will prepare them for successful careers in academia, industry, and government.

November 1-2, 2008 – M.Sc. Comprehensive Exam
M.Sc. Comprehensive Exam will take place on Nov 1 and Nov 2, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in room 168 Olin Hall. The framework of M.Sc. comprehensive exam is as follows:
- November 1, 2008: Exams in the areas of CS503 OR CIS615, CS550 OR CS643, CS609, and CIS588 courses will be offered.
- November 2, 2008: Exams in the areas of CS518, CS519, CS682, CIS 607, and CIS608 courses will be offered.

October 20, 2008 – Congratulations, 2009-2010 Caterpillar Fellowship Award Recipients!
CS/IS faculty and staff - Dr. Mahmood Haghighi, Dr. Young Park, Dr. Jiang Bo Liu, Dr. Vladimir Uskov,  Dr. Steven Dolins, and Dr. Alexander Uskov - received prestigious Caterpillar Fellowship Awards.

June 24, 2008 – Congratulations, Alex!
Alexander Uskov, CS/IS department IT specialist, completed Ph.D. studies and on June 24, 2008 successfully defended Ph.D. dissertation entitled "Virtual Private Networks and Streaming Multimedia Applications for Corporate Educational Networks". Based on content and quality of presented research findings, outcomes and deliverables Alexander Uskov has been granted doctorate degrees in two areas -- “Computer and Information Security” and “Telecommunication Systems and Computer Networks”.

April 23, 2008: A Survey of CS&IS Graduate Students
The CS&IS Department wants your feedback! We are conducting a survey of our current and alumni graduate students to find out what is most helpful to you while you pursue your degree and what areas we can improve to make the department even better. Your response is requested by May 1, 2008.

April 18, 2008 – New formats of Programming Test and M.Sc. Comprehensive Exam Over the past two years, the Computer Science & Information Systems Department has reviewed its graduate curriculum. This review has resulted in some curriculum revisions for these programs. The newly established curriculum will impact the graduate student graduation requirements. The new curriculum is now in the process of approval by the university curriculum committee and university senate. March 18, 2008 - Alexander Uskov, Adam Byerly, and Dr. Vladimir Uskov are recipients of the “2008 Best Non-Commercial Software System for Web-Based Education” award.
Alexander Uskov, CS/IS IT specialist, Adam Byerly, an undergraduate computer science major, and Dr. Vladimir Uskov, professor of Computer Science and Information Systems, are recipients of the “2008 Best Non-Commercial Software System for Web-Based Education” award. More…

March 17, 2008 - Alexander Uskov is a recipient of the “2008 Best Ph.D. Student” award.
The 7th Annual international competition of Ph.D. students who perform research in the areas of Web-Based Education and e-Learning took place on March 17, 2008 in the Congress Center, Innsbruck, Austria. Representatives of more than 20 countries including U.S.A., UK, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, participated in this professional event. More …
