undertake learning opportunities off-campus whenever possible.

Study Abroad:

State Department Internship:
The Institute provides credit to qualified majors who wish to spend a
semester interning with the U.S. Department of State, either in
Washington or in an embassy abroad. Click here for

Summer Semester in Washington:
International Studies majors may take advantage of this seven-week
program sponsored by the Fund for American Studies and located at
Georgetown University. Students spend mornings interning either with a
U.S. Government agency, foreign embassy, or other public policy-related
organization. Classes are conducted in the afternoons, and many
evenings are devoted to presentations by VIPs. Click Here for more

Several opportunities for internships or cooperative learning are
available to IS majors though the Smith Career
Center. Options include the CIA,
the US Department of
Commerce, the United
Nations, and various Congressional staffs and committees.
