Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Montgomery received his Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Florida in 1993. His dissertation from Florida earned the APA Division 7 Dissertation Award. A Professor of Psychology at Bradley University, where he has taught since 1993, Dr. Montgomery’s courses include Principles of Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Honors Research, and Cognitive Development. His research examines how the intersection of language and cognitive development influences preschoolers' self-control and understanding of mental concepts.
