Practica: Clinical practica are an introduction to the application of psychological principles in clinical settings. They are a good way for students to discover their strengths and interests in the field of Psychology. Students can receive course credit (PSY 380) while gaining experience working under the supervision of trained professionals in the mental health care system. Students typically spend approximately 8 hours/ week at a placement site and meet with an instructor and other students enrolled in the same section for 1 hour/week for additional supervision.

Students who are interested in this course need to complete an application form (available in room 80 Bradley Hall or on the Psychology Blackboard site under "Course Information”). There are no GPA prerequisites for clinical practica, but typically it is best if you are a junior or senior. Information regarding placement opportunities is listed below, in addition to Blackboard.
