We, the Student Senate of Bradley University, recognize a concern regarding the issuance of mid-term grades to students with junior and senior standing.
We believe juniors and seniors will benefit from knowing their academic standing at mid-semester.
Upperclassmen can gauge progress in their courses up to that point in the semester, much like underclassmen.
We, the Student Senate, believe issuing mid-term grades to juniors and seniors will be beneficial to all upperclassmen on campus. We strongly recommend that the University review this resolution and consider the positive effects that it will have on students at Bradley University.

RE: Mid-term Grades
The Student Senate asked, see text above, the University Senate Executive Committee to place the Mid-term Grade Proposal on the agenda for the October 1998 meeting. Recall, that the proposal was approved by the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Regulations (2/24/98 and corrected 3/24/98) and then modified during the May 1998 meeting of the University Senate. At the May 1998 University Senate the Proposal was defeated with 18 "yes" and 18 "no" votes.
1. Midterm grades for all full-term courses will be issued to all undergraduate students.
2. All students will have electronic access to mid-term grades. Mid-term grades will be mailed to freshman, sophomore, and transfer students only because of the considerable cost involved.
3. The effective date of this action will be Spring 1999.
4. If approved the new policy will appear in the Faculty Handbook at IV., A, 6. Mid-Term Grades. The Policy reads:
A report of the mid-term grades for all undergraduate students is prepared at the close of the seventh week of classes. Grade rosters will be supplied to faculty members about one week previous to these dates. Teaching schedules should be planned so that reports of these grades can be made. These grades are supplied to the student, the student's academic advisor and the Dean of the College in Which the student is registered.
