The Degree
Manufacturing Engineering Technology is a subset of one of the newest and most dynamic fields of the engineering professions. Manufacturing Engineering involves the development and coordination of the entire manufacturing process from product design through after-sale service. With concentrations in Manufacturing Design and Manufacturing Systems, the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program takes a scientific approach to solving manufacturing problems to help maximize workers’ productivity. Graduates will have the knowledge and practical skills to implement, maintain and test existing products and services. The program is ABET accredited and utilizes the same faculty and lab resources as the Manufacturing Engineering Program.

Curriculum
At Bradley University, laboratory experience is an essential component of the manufacturing engineering program. Five laboratories are well equipped to serve the program in:

  • computer aided graphics and design
  • computer integrated manufacturing and robotics
  • materials science and engineering
  • materials removal and fabrication
  • computer aided manufacturing

Students in Bradley’s Manufacturing Engineering program are exposed to a wide variety of faculty expertise. Some of the research interests of Bradley’s Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering faculty include:

  • sequential design of experiments
  • technical communication
  • geometric modeling
  • rapid prototyping
  • computer aided design

Many instructors are accomplished authors and researchers in their field. Bradley’s low student-to-faculty ratios create a collaborative teaching environment. During the senior year, students work under faculty supervision on real-world problems that exist in the community in both manufacturing organizations and service organizations such as:

  • hospitals
  • city government
  • air transport companies
  • court systems
  • utility companies

Beyond Bradley
Bradley's Manufacturing Technology Engineering graduates enjoy a consistently strong job outlook, with strong placement rates and average starting salaries. Recent employers include:

  • Caterpillar Inc.
  • BUTLER International
  • Axis Inc.
