AEP/Social Work

STEPPING 500 MILES OUT OF THE BOX

I came here knowing absolutely nobody since I’m from Colorado. When I’m asked why I chose Bradley, sometimes I’m tempted to tell a crazy story, like I have a criminal record in every other state, but I’d be lying. Bradley is simply all I want from a school. I wanted a higher-quality school with a great reputation. Plus, the school size and professor to student ratio gave me this gut feeling Bradley wouldn’t let me down.

GLUING EVERYTHING IN PLACE

Coming to Bradley I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. Through the Academic Exploration Program I started to realize the one thing I like to do most is help people. Volunteering at a Spanish festival, my realization was confirmed. As I was gluing little macaroni noodles onto a homemade maraca, I realized I loved working with kids, and it just clicked. I discovered where I’m headed in life and I’m confident in my decision to be a social worker.

IRREPLACEABLE TEAMMATES

I’m passionate about sports so I was super excited to join the women’s club soccer team. I also participate in intramural basketball and swim on the water polo team offered at the Markin Center. I’ve made so many friends while enjoying something I love and being a part of Bradley’s active student population.

I GOT THAT EXTRA PUSH

I feel that by just being at Bradley I am inspired to do things that I would never dream of doing before. I find myself stepping out of my box every day, growing up. Bradley gives me this euphoric feeling that urges me to be spontaneous. I’ve become the confident person I’ve always strived to be.
