The Degree
The purpose of the program is to equip students intellectually to comprehend and deal with their political world after graduation as intelligent citizens, journalists, active participants in business or in electoral politics, candidates for offices or public officials or academic political scientists. The program successfully encourages strong critical thinking and writing skills, and is one of the very few in the country offering both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.

Opportunities at Bradley
Outside of the classroom, Bradley Political Science majors enjoy many cocurricular and cooperative learning experiences, including:

These internships not only give students insight into the reality of politics and government, but also provide training and contacts that can be helpful in career planning and employment.

Political Science students are encouraged to study abroad, whether over a summer or for one or two semesters. Bradley has developed formal ties with a number of universities in various parts of the world and students are urged to take advantage of such opportunities. Students may also choose to participate in the Washington Semester, a cooperative venture between Bradley and American University that allows students to study and live in Washington D.C. for a semester. The twelve Washington Semester programs include subjects such as:
