
Direct Logic Solutions, Inc. (DLS) was founded by two entrepreneurs skilled in direct marketing analysis and programming. Their unique software technology allows for deep statistical and geographical analysis of purchase patterns that companies can then use for direct marketing and accurate forecasting on buying practices. Inventory, warehousing, and sales staff needs have been positively impacted by the regional and national companies that have implemented this innovative technology.
Growth of the company has been at a steady pace throughout the last five years, reaching the current level of employing fifteen people and providing their direct marketing decision support products and consultative services internationally. In 2002 the corporation was converted from an “S” corporation to a “C” corporation. Direct Logic has received funds through angel investors totaling $854,000 of financial support and the company has been able to consistently maintain a positive cash flow.
Although founded in 1999, Direct Logic Solutions has just recently embarked on a more focused business plan. Bradley Technology Commercialization Center (BTCC) began working with DLS in January of 2003. Our services were sought as they began to look for additional investors. A gap analysis was done and weak areas identified for improvement before further promotional activities would be undertaken.
First, BTCC reviewed all business materials and worked with DLS to develop a company vision and a mission statement. The business plan was completely rewritten and updated. Financial projections for the next five years were refined.
DLS updated their power point presentation and formal presentations were given to the PeoriaNEXT Steps entrepreneur and venture capital forum and to the Peoria Business Summit meeting. Additionally, they were the highlighted entrepreneur for the first BTCC newsletter published this spring.
BTCC has not introduced Direct Logic to the team of experts in the Bradley University Multimedia Department. A full marketing project plan has been developed between the three entities. The three month time table encompasses drastic enhancements to the company web site, customer software templates, and development of a professional trade show display with computerized graphics. A full company image branding process will be unveiled in the spring of 2004 with all associated materials.
With the supporting business infrastructure, this innovative company will now be positioned for the next round of investment and captured sales are predicted to accelerate at the rate of thirty percent annually.
