Peoria NEXT will be awarding two $50,000 grants this summer through the Peoria NEXT Research Grant Program.  Pre-proposals are being accepted now, application deadline is May 26, 2010 and awards will be announced July 15, 2010.

Funds for this Grant Program were obtained through donations to Peoria NEXT.  These grants will support innovation and the implementation of commercialization in the areas of life science, physical science, material science, and engineering science.  Seed funding will be awarded to those projects that best incorporate the inter-institutional collaboration, scientific/technical merit, commercialization potential, and future access to funding.  Priority will be given to Peoria NEXT anchor organization partnerships or proven Central Illinois Partnerships.

More details on Peoria NEXT Research Grant Program online at www.heartlandpartnership.org.

Events:

NextSteps

"NextSteps" is a bi-monthly meeting that provides a forum for entrepreneurs, technologists, funding sources and other interested parties to hear and review presentations of new technologies available for commercialization. It assists new early stage technology enterprises that are seeking financing, and provides a networking opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors, and community members.

Novus logo

Novus was started by a handful of Central Illinois entrepreneurs in 2004 to help entrepreneurs connect with one another. NOVUS meets every other month at the Peoria NEXT Innovation Center (unless otherwise indicated). The networking events include an information component provided by either a guest speaker, usually an entrepreneur, or a panel discussion, with plenty of time to make connections with others and to share ideas.

Angel Events

Angel Investors are invited to view presentations by client companies of the Bradley Technology Commercialization Center.
