Swords Hall

Swords Hall

Home to the University administration, the hall was named for former Peoria County sheriff and contractor, Charles L. Swords, and his son, Earl. They had contributed $300,000 to the building's construction in 1962; it was dedicated the following year. Earl Swords said his father had the coal contract for the school when it opened in 1897.
