Campus Rec Markin Center
The Markin Family Student Recreation Center will be scheduled and managed by the Department of Campus Recreation. Scheduled intramural sports events will represent the primary use of the complex. The Department of Campus Recreation will post a schedule of events daily in the Markin Family Student Recreation Center. Scheduled events and those coordinated through the Department of Campus Recreation will have precedence over informal activities.
The Markin Family Student Recreation Center will be available to all Bradley University students, faculty and staff who have purchased a membership, and family members of students, faculty and staff who have obtained a Markin Center Family Pass (details below). All participants must show their Bradley identification card each time they access the Markin Center. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times while in the building with the exception of the pool.

Faculty and Staff Membership
Faculty and staff can use the Markin Center on a daily basis with the purchase of the Markin Center Privilege. The cost of the Markin Center Privilege is $120 from January 1 to December 31. The purchase of the privilege after January will be pro-rated on a monthly basis. For example, if the privilege is purchased in April, the cost will be $90 for rest of the year. The Privilege must be purchased until the end of the calendar year. Payment can also be set up through the Human Resources department with payroll deduct. Information about this process is sent out via campus mail sometime in November.
The Markin Center offers three membership options for Bradley alumni. To be eligible for an alumni membership to the Markin Center, you must be classified as a Bradley alumnus or alumna, the spouse of an alumnus or alumna with an active membership, must be a donor to the University within the last year or do so prior to obtaining membership, and must agree to and sign documentation policies, procedures and expectations of alumni pass holders. Violations will result in forfeiture of the pass with no refund.
The membership options are as follows:
- Annual membership: $40 per month, paid in one $480 installment
- 6 month membership: $45 per month, paid in a $270 installment every 6 months
- Monthly membership: $50 per month, paid each month
**Each member must also pay a one-time $20 fee to obtain an alumni membership ID.
**Alumni with an active membership are allowed to bring one guest per day at a fee of $5.00.
Alumni Daily Passes
Alumni not wishing to purchase a membership can purchase a daily pass at a fee of $5.00. However, alumni utilizing this option will not be allowed to bring a guest.
Alumni Locker Rentals
Alumni members can purchase half-lockers, when available, according to the following fee schedule:
- Annual half-locker: $60
- 6 Month half-locker: $35
- Single month half-locker: $7
**Locker availability is subject to change. Locker purchase cannot exceed the duration of the membership, i.e. an alumni with a monthly membership cannot purchase a 6 month locker.

Family passes will only be issued to family members of students and faculty/staff that have purchased the Markin Privilege for the current year.
A guest pass will be issued to a person who enters the facility with a Bradley student, faculty or staff member. Family Pass Holders are not allowed the privilege of bringing guest to the Markin Center.
- Guest passes are sold for $5 per person.
- If guests want to attend a fitness class, they must pay the $2 fee for the class in addition to the guest pass fee.
- Each student, faculty or staff member may bring only one guest per visit.
- Guests must be 18 years old or older. Proof of age is required.
- The student, faculty or staff member must present a valid Bradley ID when purchasing a guest pass in the Campus Recreation Office, Markin Center 120.
Each student, faculty or staff member is responsible for the actions of his/her guest while in the Markin Center and must accompany the guest at all times. If a guest is not accompanied by his/her host, the guest will be asked to leave the Markin Center.
Bradley students, faculty and staff are able to rent a locker in the Markin Center. Daily lockers are free and tokens can be found at the equipment desk. Lockers can be rented through the Campus Recreation Office, Markin Center 120.

Various recreational spaces in the Markin Center can be reserved by Bradley University students, faculty, staff and student organizations for university events. A facility request form may be picked up in the Campus Recreation Office or can be found on the left side of this page. Facility request forms must be submitted no less than two weeks prior to the event date to be considered for approval. Rental fees will be charged in accordance with the Markin Family Student Recreation Center fee schedule. The Markin Family Student Recreation Center will not be available for rental to non-Bradley groups.
Markin Center reservation requests for facility space that will be used to show any form of workout DVD, video, etc. will not be approved. These types of activities pose safety and liability concerns as well as potential copyright infringement. We encourage all users to take advantage of the variety of Group Fitness classes offered through the Campus Recreation department.
Two racquetball courts in which both can be used for wallyball are available in the Markin Center. Racquetball courts can be reserved one day in advance by signing up in person at the control desk in the main lobby of the Markin Center. Reserved courts will only be held for 15 minutes past reservation time.
Building supervisors are responsible for the daily operations of the Markin Center while on shift. This includes the supervision of all shift staff members, cleanliness of facility, set-up/tear-down of all equipment for events and programs, as well as the opening and closing of the facility.
Facility attendants are responsible for delivering quality guest service. This includes answering patron questions both in person and over the phone, equipment check-out, maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and many other service-related duties. They are responsible for monitoring entrance into the Markin Center using RecTrac software. Facility attendants will work at the control desk, the fitness floor and serve as roaming supervisors.
Lifeguards are responsible for the supervision of the Markin Center pool. This includes insuring the safety of all participants and users of the Markin Center pool, maintaining cleanliness of the pool area, as well as opening and closing the pool area.
Climbing Wall Supervisor
Climbing wall supervisors are responsible for the supervision of the Markin Center climbing wall and bouldering wall. This includes inspecting the wall, supervising climbers, training climbers, checking out equipment, maintaining equipment, maintaining cleanliness of the climbing wall area, as well as opening and closing the climbing wall area.
