August 31 - September 8, 2013
Formal Recruitment is the easiest way to check out all of our fraternities to determine where you feel is the best fit for you.
Prior to, or at the beginning of the fall semester, any interested man can register for Formal Recruitment; this allows you to tell the fraternities more about yourself. After you have registered, you will start to recieve invitations from IFC fraternities to events like pick-up games, movies, video games, BBQ's and much more.
The main event during Formal Recruitment is House Tours. Over the course of two days (August 31 - September 1, 2013), you will get to visit with each chapter to learn more about their organization and get to know their members. This is a long, but fun weekend of making new friends, and eating plenty of food.
After you complete the House Tours, you can narrow down your options to the chapters you are still interested in joining. Over the next couple weeks, you can spend time with these organizations, get to know their members on a more personal level, and get an even better understanding about what each chapter represents.
The culmination of Formal Recruitment is the acceptance of a bid. If a chapter offers you a bid, it means they would like you to join their brotherhood as a new member. During Formal Recruitment, bids are given out at an event called Anadeixis. When you choose to accept a bid from a fraternity, you are committing to joining that fraternity. Anadeixis will take place on September 8, 2013.
