Informal recruitment is a great way for you to meet fraternity men in a relaxed atmosphere where you are given plenty of time to find the right chapter for you!
Unlike Formal Recruitment, Informal Recruitment doesn't require you to visit every chapter house as a means to narrow down your selection of chapters. Instead, you simply choose the events that you want to attend, and spend time with the chapters with whom you feel most comfortable. If your looking for a relaxed atmosphere where you can spend plenty of time with your potential brothers and make lasting friendships, then informal recruitment is for you!
Informal recruitment happens year-round, with the exception being Formal Recruitment. Chapters are allowed to offer bids to any potential new member throughout the year, and you can accept that bid whenever you feel it is the right time for you.
The easiest way to joing a fraternity through informal recruitment is to simply make friends with some fraternity men. They will invite you to their events, ask you to participate in some of the chapter activities, and give you a sneak peak of what to expect if you join that fraternity. When they are ready, a bid may be extended to you.
