Grand Chapter Awards

The purpose of Bradley University’s Grand Chapter Awards is to reward organizations and individuals who have gone above and beyond the basic expectations.

Nominations:  Nominations consist of filling out the application in its entirety on the Fraternity and Sorority Life Website. Letters of nomination and letters of recommendation must still be submitted as a hard copy to the Order of Omega mailbox in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. 

The following awards require no application:

Achievement in Academics 
Given to all chapters who are above the all men’s/women’s average

Highest Chapter GPA - Spring and Fall Semesters
Given to the chapter with the highest GPA in the fall semester. This award includes the New Members GPA. One award will be given to an IFC, NPHC, and PHC chapter. In the event of a tie, the award will go to the chapter with the highest number of credit hours. If credit hours are tied, an equation developed by the Registar’s Office will be used to determine which student had the more difficult schedule.

Highest New Member GPA - Spring and Fall Semesters
Given to the chapter with the highest new member GPA in the spring semester. One award will be given to an IFC, NPHC, and PHC chapter. In the event of a tie, the award will go to the chapter with the highest number of credit hours. If credit hours are tied, an equation developed by the Registar’s Office will be used to determine which student had the more difficult schedule.

Most Improved GPA
Given to the chapter with the most improved GPA during the past year, based on Fall 2011 to Fall 2012 improvement. One award will be given to an IFC, NPHC, and PHC chapter.

Achievement in Philanthropy
Given to the chapter who donates the highest average per member to a national or local charity during the year. This is a combined award that will include all IFC, NPHC, and PHC chapters.

Outstanding Performance in Community Service
Given to the chapter who completed the most community service hours during the Fall 2010, Spring 2011, and Fall 2011 semesters. This is a combined award that will include all IFC, NPHC, and PHC chapters.

Outstanding Chapter Advancement
Given to the chapter who has demonstrated the most improvement in the Grand Chapter Accreditation Program in the last year. This is a combined award that will include all IFC, NPHC and PHC chapters.

Chapter of the Year (PHC)/ Edward M. King Award (IFC)
Given to the outstanding organization from each council. Only 4 and 5 star accredited chapters are eligible. A panel of judges for Grand Chapter Awards and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life will determine award based on information included in the accreditation documents.

All online applications must be submitted by 11:55pm on December 4, 2012. All letters of recommendation must be delivered to the Order of Omega Mailbox in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life by 4:30pm on December 4, 2012.
