Create a Contract

As a student you legally CANNOT sign any sort of contract on behalf of the university.  If you are planning an event involving paid live entertainment (comedian, lecturer, musicians/bands, etc.), please contact the Student Activities Office as early as possible to create a contract.  It can take up to 6 weeks to negotiate and execute a contract, retrieve a W-9 and process a check request on campus, so please meet with us as early as possible to ensure your performer can receive payment on the day the services are rendered.

Public Performance Rights

If you want to show a movie or a TV show at an event (in a public venue), Federal Law requires that you must purchase a license.  If showing a movie or TV show is part of or your entire event, please contact Tom Coy to request and purchase a license.  Note that willful infringement on this Law is punishable as a misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of one year in jail and/or $100,000 fine.
