About Performing Arts

Performing Arts brings entertainment to campus such as hypnotists, poets, magician, dance groups, theatrical performances, and more! If you have a recommendation for something you'd like to see at campus, let us know! If you're interested in helping coordinate events, join our committee! Mike McGee // Poet

Thursday, August 28 // 9pm

Lydia's Lounge// FREE

Mike McGee is a sweet-ass poet and performer. He tours a lot. He likes, and talks about, all kinds of everything. He loves bad food and scotch whiskey. He smokes too much and is well-over any preferred weight. However, Mike McGee is a damn nice dude.

He has performed in thousands of venues all over North America, and was one of the first Americans ever to perform poetry at the University la Sorbonne in Paris, France. In 2006, McGee became the first person to win two separate individual titles by being crowned the 2006 Individual World Poetry Slam Champion, besting over 70 of the world’s best ranked slam poets. His “stand-up poetry” has been written about in Writer’s Digest magazine, and been featured on NPR, HBO and CBC. Mike McGee books internationally and is on tour damn-near 300 days a year.
