Treaty of Paris is a rock and powerpop 5 man band from Chicago. In the past several years they have gained a huge following and have performed with Motion City Soundtrack, Jack's Mannequin, and Phantom Planet, and have performed on Warped Tour. This is their third time at BU in the past 2 years and they always put on an amazing show.
Company of Thieves sites Motown, soul, 1960’s and 1970’s rock n’ roll, Wilco, Neil Young, Fiona Apple and — of course — the Beatles, among their influences. In fact, the name “Company of Thieves” stems from the group’s feeling that their material is their own, more textured version of the music produced by their favorite artists, and therefore, a form of “thievery.” Company of Thieves have seen a quick rise in the number of their fans as well as contagious excitement throughout the music industry. Some notable performances include: several sold-out shows at legendary Chicago venues, Beat Kitchen and Schuba’s, sharing the stage with The Polyphonic Spree, Jack's Mannequin, Teddy Geiger, Sara Bareilles, among others, and participating in the Yahoo! Billboard Live showcase at B.B. King’s in New York City. Having won the 2007 New York Songwriters Circle Songwriting Grand Prize, Company of Thieves is ready to fulfill their billing as “one of the top bands to watch in 2008” by Chicago area Beep! Media.
"I have seen the future, and it is the Heyday," writes Cory Casciato of Westword. The Heyday are rapidly becoming used to these praises, but these five kids from the south end of Denver started out just looking for fun. Tasha King, of thisweekindenver.com, wrote that the "anthemic choruses are full of new love and saying goodbye, topics du jour for a group of kids negotiating graduation, college, new responsibilities and friendship lost to time and distance." The band calls them fit for "the drive home with your friends on the last night of summer," but these radio-ready tunes are destined for bigger things.
