Joe’s thoughts:

The field of research is very entrepreneurial in nature. An investigator’s success lies in his or her ability to sell an idea and deliver results. Along these same lines, intellectual property is also an important concept in biological research. Discoveries made can often lead to beneficial and profitable developments in the field of medicine, for example. In my opinion, universities such as Bradley should have a standardized and fair way of distributing proceeds made from research endeavors.
