Bradley closes out the first semester with two key league wins.

The team went into the weekend games knowing they had to come away with two wins to stay in the playoff hunt in the MACHA. They had no problem dominating Western Illinois University in both games winning 14 - 1 on Friday and 6 - 1 on Saturday.

Pivotal MACHA Silver games this weekend...

Bradley now stands at 2 - 2 in the MACHA Silver South. They find themselves playing 2 games at Owens against a Western Illinois University team that has been a pesky opponent in the past. Bradley needs all 4 points to secure a strong spot in the playoff hunt. This weekends games start a stretch of 10 league games to end the season. The games this weekend are the last of the first semester and the boys won't be back on the ice until the third weekend in January.

Bradley to play in the first annual Robert Morris Peoria ACHA Showcase this weekend.

This weekend the team will be playing three teams in three days at Owens in Peoria.  Friday night the boys will face off against ISU-JV, a team they tied 3-3 and beat 5 - 2 earlier this season. Then on Saturday they play the first of 3 season games against Rober Morris Peoria. Finally on Sunday they will be playing the frist of 3 season games against Rober Morris Springfield. All three of these games are non-conference play.

Bradley takes a short bench for their longest bus ride of the season to Jefferson City, Mo to take on Mizzou and comes away with two big league wins. Saturday night the boys came out knowing they needed a win to be sure if keeping in the hunt for a playoff spot. By then end of the night they reached their goal with a 5 - 1 win. A rare sunday game produced win number two on the weekend for BU as they cruised to a 7 - 1 win. They are now 2 - 2 in MACHA play with the next league games coming in December at Owens against Western Illinois University.

Key MACHA games up coming at Mizzou this weekend. 

The team will hit the road again this weekend, traveling to Jefferson City, MO to take on Missouri.  The team is looking to even their MACHA league recored to 2 - 2 with two key games on the road.

Bradley drops three over the weekend. Thursday night was a tough game with a 8 - 1 loss to the #6 ranked ISU Redbirds. Bradley then played two non league games as well over the weekend, dropping the first game to Purdue by a score of 5 - 1 and the second game 5 - 2.

Two home games this weekend after three on the road.

Purdue comes to town this weekend for two games. Friday's game starts at 7:45 and Saturday's game is at 8:45. These are two non-conference MACHA.  All games this season against MACHA Silver Northopponents do not count towards league standings. This weekends games are an important tune up heading into two pivotal away games at Missouri next weekend.

The War on 74 resumes tonight.

Bradley will be heading to Bloomington tonight for their yearly weeknight rivalry game against ISU.  The puck drops for opening faceoff at 7:30 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.   For more information visit www.illinoisstatehockey.com

BU wins two in Chicago

This past weekend was a weekend filled with scoring and some long awaited reward for hard efforts by the entire team.  Friday night was a slow start and it continuted throughout the game. Bradley emerged with a 5 - 3 victory over Wheaton. Saturday was a different story. The team came out strong and finished strong in a dominating 14 - 1 victory over Wheaton. The team was able to pull together their first series sweep since last seasons series sweep against the University of Iowa.

BU hitting the road to Chicago.

The boys will be heading to Chicago over Halloween weekend to take on Wheaton College at Center Ice of DuPage. Friday's game is scheduled for 8:50 and Saturdays games is at 8:20.

Bradley welcomes new coach.

Bradley Head Coach Tony Fry has stepped down as coach of Bradley to pursue business opportunties outside of the Peoria area.  The team announced Kyle Steel as the new coach three weeks ago.  Kyle was behind the bench this past weekend.  Kyle has previously been a coach in youth hockey in Peoria as well as high school hockey with Morton high school.  He also served on the Peoria Youth Hockey Association's board of directors. We are all excited to have Kyle on board.

Bradley loses two at home.

Bradley was unable to come away with a victory in their first MACHA Silver series of the season.  Dropping the game on Friday by a score of 3 - 2 and on Saturday losing 6 - 2.

PARENTS' WEEKEND THIS WEEKEND.

Bradley opens their MACHA conference season with two Parents weekend home games. The boys will be hosting two time defending MACHA division Silver Champion McKendree University.

A win and a tie against ISU.  

Bradley rebounded from two tough losses against RMU Chicago - White by coming out strong once again this past weekend.  A strong defensive effort combined with a some great forechecking led to a 3 - 3 tie on Saturday and a 6 - 3 win in two home games against the Illinois State University Icebirds.

Practice schedule for next season.

Practices will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings.   They will be starting anytime between 8:00 and 9:30.   Practices are mandatory and evening classes on these days will conflict with practice times. All incoming freshman and transfers for next season please keep this in mind when scheduling your classes.

2009 - 2010 Schedule posted.

The schedule for next season has been completed and posted under the schedule section of the website.  The season will start out with non-conference games against the University of Iowa - Black in Coralville, Iowa on September 25th and 26th.   On Oct. 3rd we will be hosting our annual alumni game with our game that evening against Robert - Morris Chicago - White.   Other games to note are Oct. 23rd and 24th we will be hosting McKendree University on Parent's Weekend.   The team will also be participating in the first ever Peoria Showcase the weekend of Nov. 20th - 22nd with games against Robert - Morris College - Peoira, Illinois State Icebirds and Robert Morris College - Springfield.   All game times will be posted when they become available.

Annual Alumni Game

The 2009 Bradley hockey alumni game will be played Saturday, October 3rd at Owens Center in Peoria. The format will be the same as the previous two season with the alumni forming two teams to face each other. This move was made with the growing number of alumni coming back to get back on the ice with old teammates and reminisce about their times playing for BU.

2009 - 2010 Schedule near completion.

The 2009 - 2010 season schedule is near completion.  The Braves will open the season with two road games against the University of Iowa's Black team in Coralville, Iowa on September 25th and 26th.   The season schedule will comprise a total of 27 games with 10 away games and 17 games in Peoria.  There will be an informational meeting at the beginning of the fall semester for all interested players.  Tryouts will begin the first week of class.
