What is Habitat for Humanity?
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that is working to eliminate poverty by providing quality, affordable homes for people in need.
As of today, Habitat has built over 200,000 houses, providing homes to over 1,000,000 people in 3,000 communities all over the world! The Bradley University Chapter has built 5 houses in the Peoria area, as well as other many other miscellaneous projects. We have also helped people in other states on our Spring Break Builds. In 2007 we went to Ft. Lauderdale in Florida and helped build a whole neighborhood! Go to our photos page to see pictures! Fun Fact: the fastest Habitat House ever built was finished in 3 hours, 24 minutes, and 34 seconds!! |
Getting Involved
Being a part of Habitat for Humanity is fun, fulfilling, and a great way to make new friends! There are no minimum involvement requirements or mandatory events; you put in as much effort as you'd like to get back in satisfaction.
If you'd like to learn more, please join us for one of our fundraising events or Chapter meetings! You can take a look at this month's calendar to see when our next event is, or stop by Neumiller Lecture Hall in Bradley Hall at 9pm on the first Monday of each month for a Chapter meeting! |
