Committee Reports:
Recruitment and Relations Committee:
Movie Committee:
- The director's cut DVD of ST:TMP is due out in November; it is offered up as a movie suggestion.
- Another movie suggested so far is Beastmaster.
- Rest assured, there will be a movie somewhere.
- General disorder ensues.
T-Shirt Committee:
- Random T-shirt ideas have been collected by the Captain.
- A sample: "Being crazy does have its advantages."
- Specific disorder ensues while it is debated whether or not Marisa's scepter poses a security risk.
No Report Committee:
- {Apparently, no report was given, since there are no notations indicating such in the Comm Officer's minutes, but we all know that the Comm Officer is crazy anyway, so we'll just improvise.}
- No report.
- Addendum: Anti-Joel pokes Marisa with a plastic pink flamingo.
Officers' Reports:
Communications Officer:
- The minutes from last week are up.
- Also, the main page and the officers' page on the Bradley website have been updated. Woohoo!
- The Comm Officer is open to suggestions for perking up the Bradley webpage.
- TNN has been cutting out the last two minutes of each night's TNG 1 am episode during this week's marathon for some sort of home shopper's network infomercial. Don't complain to AT&T Cable, as they said it was a national problem.
Constable:
- "Captain, we're receiving over 285,000 hails." --Wesley, "Parallels"
- Everything's under control.
Grand Nagus:
- The current balance is $400.63, the "same" as last week.
- We have about $34 in the copy account, after subtracting $4.50 for flyers for the Enterprise premiere.
- Since the Nagus already vented about statistics in MCS, he doesn't need to do so here.
- The Nagus proclaims "The West Wing" to be "good." Ryan counters that wrestling is "better."
Chief of Operations:
- The Enterprise BBS is now up and running, monitored by David. Go talk!
- If Ryan can attend the next WWF event in Chicago, he should hold up a sign for Psi Phi.
First Officer:
Captain:
- The Captain relays a joke from Dr. Flint, which is duly paraphrased and recorded in the minutes:
- "What do you get when you cross an elephant with a giraffe?"
- "Elephant*giraffe*cos(theta)."
- "What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhinoceros?"
- "Elephant*rhinoceros*cos(theta)."
- "What do you get when you cross an elephant with a mountain climber?"
- "You can't cross an elephant with a mountain climber; a mountain climber is a scaler!!"
- Specific disorder ensues.
- The Constable sings "Letters," with members singing in general unison.
- Mail:
- Info on an Open Forum to speak with the All-School Officers
- A letter from the ACBU, looking for volunteers to help run the Cosby show on October 20
- A memo from the Peoria Jaycees, looking for volunteers to help with their Haunted House
- A flyer from Hands Against Violence, for a candlelight vigil to be held October 17 at 7 pm
New Business:
- The Captain has all members present sign the Psi Phi Log. This marks the first time the Log has been signed since the Fall 1999 semester.
- Marisa remarks that Bradley is starting up the Quiz Bowl again. Anti-Joel regales the club with tales of great deeds done and battles won by Psi Phi teams entered in this event in the past.
- It is decided that forming some teams for this year's Bowl may be a good thing to do.
Scifi News:
- Next Monday, the Sci Fi Channel will air a Crusade marathon of all 13 episodes, running approximately from 7 am to 8 pm.
- The season premiere of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch will air this Friday at 7 pm on the WB.
- The novelization of Enterprise's pilot episode, "Broken Bow," is out after a slight delay. Written by Diane Carey, it includes 32 pages of behind-the-scenes stories, and is available in hardcover for $19.95 on www.amazon.com.
- The first Enterprise novel, By the Book, will be out in January. It is written by Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch. David should have the manuscript by tomorrow.
- The Captain has found that Howard Shore will be doing the music for the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. Shore has done the music for many movies, including "The Silence of the Lambs."
