Minutes: Summarized and approved.
Notes:
- The Chief reads the minutes tonight, whilst the Comm Officer takes attendance. {He seems to get a lot more reverent attention during this than the Comm Officer usually does...}
- It is noted that we are meeting in the Alumni Dining Room tonight, as our usual room was made unavailable by the Job Fair and the Captain had access to this one.
- Fred is sent in search of stray members who may yet be searching for the meeting room. He returns with Marisa in tow.
- The entire security wing appears to be conspicuously absent, leaving the club with a dearth of constabular muscle. In view of this, Rachel is appointed Acting Deputy Constable by Captain's Order for tonight.
Committee Reports:
Recruitment and Relations Committee:
- Psi Phi alum Matt Detzler has dropped in for tonight's meeting.
Quiz Bowl Committee:
- The club met Monday and read through questions from a recent high school tournament.
- Also, Chris K. and Kenny partipicated in the Black History Quiz Bowl Tuesday, and did fairly well.
T-Shirt Committee:
- We will have t-shirts soon!
- $200 was paid to the t-shirt people, about half of the total cost.
- We need to start collecting money from everyone who ordered a shirt, lest the club have to pull an Enron.
- The Captain will attempt to contact people by email to remind them.
- Joel will try to have shirts available for the people going to the convention on Sunday, and maybe some for the Purdue group as well. [Editor's note: Not this week, as it turned out. Ah, well.]
Movie Committee:
- Landon, Joel, Anti-Joel, and Kenny engaged in a marathon session of Evangelion-viewing this weekend.
- Send Lyz your movie ideas!
- Suggested movies include Scanners, Scanners 2, Spaceballs, and Sorcerer Hunters.
- Landon motions that we have a movie at Landon and Lyz's house Friday night at 9. No one is violently opposed, so the motion passes.
- Fred offers to bring his DVD player: "I've got connections like madfly, dude."
No Report Committee:
Officers' Reports:
Communications Officer:
- Last week's minutes are up. Also, small errors were discovered in some sets of minutes of recent meetings; these errors have been corrected.
- A link has been added from the Bradley Psi Phi homepage to the Psi Phi Enterprise page.
- The Comm Officer has discovered while perusing the archives that Anti-Joel has tied a club record for the highest number of offices to which one person has been elected. Anti-Joel is the first person since Paul Mulka to hold three different Psi Phi offices. Interested persons can check out the Officers page on the website.
Constable:
- Asked whether everything is under control, Rachel replies, "Sure."
- "A steward?" --Capt. Jonathan Archer, "Shadows of P'Jem"
- Everything's under control.
Grand Nagus:
- The current balance is $202.32, after paying out $200.00 for t-shirts, and after adding $100.00 from David, part of the amazon.com money for the last quarter.
Chief of Operations:
First Officer:
- The First Officer opines that "they should either be pronounced 'Kansas' and 'Ar-kansas,' or 'Arkansaw' and 'Kansaw.'"
Captain:
- We have mail. We sing "Letters."
- Mail:
- A flyer reminding us to celebrate Black History Month in February
Old Business:
- Ryan, David, Aaron, and Kenny will definitely be attending the convention on Sunday; Fred might attend as well.
- Convention-goers should congregate after the meeting and make the necessary arrangements.
- Landon's request to have all mention of the flamingo stricken from the minutes is denied.
- Apparently, Landon has sacrificed the flamingo to help him get classes for this semester.
Scifi News:
- David has the first Farscape comic book, "Farscape: War Torn."
- David also has covers for the first ST:TOS trilogy, The Janus Gate by L.A. Graf. The titles of the books are Book One: Present Tense, Book Two: Future Imperfect, and Book Three: Past Prologue. Books One and Two will be out in June, with the third one available in July.
