Ken Klancnik '68 began a Bradley University
legacy that brought sons Chris '96 and Rob '97 followed
by daughter Carrie '99 all to Bradley University. The family
has since added Bradley alumnae, Leslie Erbs '96 (married
Chris) and Sarah Merz '98 (married Rob) and one potential
Bradley student, Zach '17, was born last January to Leslie
and Chris.
While at Bradley, Ken was an engineering major
and a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Kathy,
soon to be wife, was nearby attending Monmouth College.
Ken joined the family business, Universal-Automatic in Des
Plaines, IL. For the past 13 years, Kathy has owned two
Ben and Jerry's ice cream stores. She bought the first shop
in the Midwest in 1987 which is located in Palatine and
a second shop in 1995 in Schaumburg.

Parents' Board Members while their three children were
on campus at the same time.
Chris and Leslie...
Chris earned a soccer scholarship to Bradley
and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon while majoring in
communications and is now vice-president/general manager
at AFCO, a Klancnik family business.
Leslie majored in accounting and was active in the Alpha
Chi Omega sorority. She worked for Klayman and Korman in
Chicago after graduation and is now at home raising their
son Zach.
They met during their sophomore year and married after graduation.
Rob and Sarah...
Rob was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and
also majored in communications. He is corporate vice-president
at Universal-Automatic.
Sarah majored in nursing and is utilizing what she learned
at Bradley as a nurse at Lutheran General Hospital.
They met when Rob was a senior (Sarah was a junior) and
married in September 1999.
Carrie...
Produced an award winning CD-ROM about the
Klancnik "clan" while in la senior year at Bradley as a
communications major.
She began working for KISS Radio FM 92.7 in Chicago on September
27, 1999 as a sales associate and has already landed some
big accounts for this new radio station.
