Technical Explanation

This image is representative of most of the artwork I create on the computer. It consists of photographs I made, then scanned into the computer and composited within Adobe Photoshop. Usually I explore a particular theme and make photographs centering around this theme. I used a Nikon 35mm film scanner to digitize the film. In Photoshop I manipulated the images by converting them to grayscale, then editing and compositing them in an interesting way. When I composite two images, I spend a lot of time making good selections, so that the images blend together well. Sometimes I photograph certain objects against a black background or at night. This makes selecting and compositing them with other images easier. This image was output to a dye-sublimation printer, to get a photographic quality finish.
