It was a natural evolutionary process for me to go from classic photography to computer-augmented images. To a large extent my life parallels one of my favorite storybook heroes, Toad, in the children's classic "Wind in the Willows." The first time I saw what a computer can accomplish, my eyes must have gone gyroscopic in their sockets. Within the time it took to click a switch I was able to achieve what had formerly taken me hours.

I use digital imaging to augment the photo process, not replace it. Those aesthetic concerns and sensibilities that animated my work in the past are here as well. My interests lie in the realm of capturing individuals, objects, and moments representative of personal events. What we see here is the natural extension of my growth as an artist, not an artifact created by the computer. Hopefully, the computer will be seen, or rather not seen, as an integral part of the creative process.

Born in 1947, I am a life long resident of Indianapolis. I obtained my M.F.A. in photography under Henry Holmes Smith at Indiana University in 1976. The winner of numerous awards for both art and teaching, I am now working as a full time artist and video producer.
