"Box Car" started life as a continuous tone monochrome photograph made with a standard film camera. The resulting print was scanned into a computer having Adobe Photoshop as one of its resident programs.
Using a variety of tools such as the Magic Wand, Lasso, and other means of density tonal separations, passages were created within the print and then toned with an arbitrary choice of colors.
Once the initial separation and color applications were complete, the entire print was massaged through a series of Kai Power Tools filters.
The resulting image file was printed on an Iris color printer.
