This piece is comprised of art papers and personal linoleum cuts scanned directly on a Canon laser 500 flatbed scanner, and 35mm transparencies. My transparencies were shot in natural light with a manual camera, and scanned on an Isomet drum scanner. I used Fuji Velvia film for its brilliant color, and concentrated on shooting for good detail, knowing I could alter the lighting digitally. These images were then cleaned, sized and composed in Photoshop 3.0 and 2.5 on a Macintosh Quadra 950. Individual elements were manipulated separately using the paths palette. I tried to limit my use of layers in Photoshop 3.0, because layers create prohibitively large file sizes. Text was imported into Photoshop from Adobe Illustrator 5.5., and filled in Photoshop. I had my file made into a 4x5 negative, and this was used to print the final 12x20 print. The negative was printed on Fuji Duraflex material, because I feel it most closely resembles the look of the file on screen.
