Ritual Sites / Ritual Objects "Light" by Lynn Reynolds

"Ritual Sites/Ritual Objects: Light"
Technical Explanation

The imagery for my work originates from a 4X5 view camera. I expose my images on T-Max 100 ASA or 400 ASA black and white sheet film. I develop the exposed negatives in T-Max liquid developer at the manufacturer's specified times. The processed negatives are then digitally recorded by a Leaf Scanner and saved as Photoshop documents. In Photoshop the images are cleaned up and attention is paid to brightness and contrast. No changes are made to the original negatives with the exception of the removal of dust spots and scratches. An indexed color is then added in substitution of the original grayscale values. Embossed white text is overlaid and it's opacity altered. The black line is added last. If the image consists of two or more panels, they are saved as EPS files and imported onto a Quark page for placement. The final images are output to an IRIS ink jet printer using matte printing paper.
