The University

Bradley University is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best, medium-sized, private institutions. The University balances big-school opportunities and choices with a small-school personality and attention. Our students find the best of both worlds, and the result is a unique, educational experience.

Founded

Founded in 1897, Bradley was the nation’s first co-educational college without a specific religious affiliation to be founded by a woman-Lydia Moss Bradley. At a time when very few women ran businesses, she became one of the most influential and wealthy entrepreneurs and civic leaders in America.

Colleges

Five Colleges: Foster College of Business Administration, Slane College of Communications & Fine Arts, Education & Health Science, College of Engineering & Technology, and Liberal Arts & Sciences. Also the Graduate School, Continuing Education, and the Honors Program.

Graduate Studies

More than 800 students are seeking master's degrees and doing graduate coursework at Bradley, which offers more than 30 graduate programs including an AACSB-accredited MBA and Executive MBA program, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Campus

There are 41 buildings on a 85-acre campus located in the residential West Bluff neighborhood. The campus is located only one mile from the downtown and eight miles from the airport.

Location

Peoria, Illinois is the largest metropolitan area in downstate Illinois with a metro population of 350,000.

Study abroad

The University encourages its students to take advantage of study abroad programs approved by the University Curriculum and Regulations Committee. Students who wish to study abroad should begin early to investigate with their advisors the appropriate program for their needs. Study abroad is usually undertaken in the junior year.

Student Organizations

More than 240 student organizations including the Lewis J. Burger Center for Leadership and Public Services.

Technology

Bradley has been ranked among "Top 25 Most Connected Campuses" by The Princeton Review and Forbes Magazine. As one of only a small percentage of institutions offering  Internet2, Bradley provides learning opportunities for its students in collaboration with students and faculty at other institutions.

Sports

Bradley has a rich Division 1 athletic tradition within the Missouri Valley Conference with numerous championships. Bradley is home to 14 varsity sports and a very active intramural and recreational sports program.
