Founded in 1979, the CBER facilitates business research and consultation projects by the members of the Foster College of Business Administration. The CBER currently administers over $250,000 per year in projects funded by businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations. Specialized short term and long term business consulting assistance is provided by FCBA faculty-student teams in the full range of functional areas of business. Many job opportunities are available for students to work on these projects.
Projects that require sample surveys of firms, employees, consumers or households are supervised by the Director of Survey Research. CBER sample surveys of consumer confidence in the economy among households of the Peoria Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) began in early 1982. A summary of the last consumer confidence results released to the public is available on-line. Complete reports are available by subscription.
Projects that need business and economic data for the Peoria MSA use the CBER's comprehensive database of raw and seasonally adjusted monthly and quarterly local indicators. Complete reports are available by subscription. A summary of the last quarterly business indicator results released to the public is available on-line. Peoria area trends in employment by industry are updated monthly and available on-line.
