Peoria area educators, John Rathbun, longtime economics teacher, and Sheila Monti, veteran mathematics teacher, will team up to highlight and demonstrate lessons from Mathematics and Economics:  Connections for Life, a National Council on Economic Education publication.  Participants will receive a free copy of this book.  Funding for the workshop is provided through a grant from State Farm Insurance.  To register, call Two Rivers Professional Development Center at 1-800-269-7107..

Session on International Economics in a Changing World

Friday, September 20, 2002 in Peoria, IL

Dr. Kevin O'Brien and John Rathbun will demonstrate how teachers can help their students meet Illinois Learning Standards for Social Studies in the area of international economics and will present innovative ways to integrate lessons from NCEE's publication, Focus:  Economic Systems into eisting curriculum at different grade levels.  Participants receive a free copy of the NCEE book through funding provided by NCEE through the U.S. Department of Education, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State.
