Graduate Programs
The mission of the graduate programs in the Foster College of Business Administration is to develop students' knowledge, skills and abilities through high quality programs of instruction. Our goal is to provide an educational experience which will allow for in-depth study of selected areas. The Foster College of Business Administration offers three graduate degrees: a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Accounting, and, our newest program, an Executive MBA in Leadership.
The Executive MBA in Leadership is a 15-month program designed for mid- and upper-level executives. It is a lockstep program that typically meets on Fridays and Saturdays, every other weekend. The program is unique in that it provides an interdisciplinary, issues-oriented approach to business education with a focus on personal growth.
The Executive MBA is an award winning program having received the Leadership in the Innovation in Business Education Award from AACSB International in recognition of its innovative curriculum. The program also received the Helen Bartlett Award for Excellence in Service to Students in recognition of superior customer service.
Master of Business Administration
The Master of Business Administration degree consists of 32 hours of course work. Nine of these hours may be used for a concentration in finance, information technology, management, managerial accounting, or marketing. In lieu of a concentration, the student can use the nine hours as electives to provide a degree that is tailored to his or her needs and interests. A part-time student may complete this program in two years.
Master of Science in Accounting
The Master of Science in Accounting degree consists of 30 hours of course work. At least 15 of these hours consist of graduate courses in accounting. There are also 9 elective semester hours of 600-level courses from the Foster College of Business Administration. The 6 remaining semester hours of electives may be taken inside or outside the Foster College of Business Administration. The ability to select 15 elective hours creates a very flexible program which can be tailored to meet the needs of students desiring to meet the CPA exam's 150 hour requirement or professional accountants desiring to further their education.
