  Internal Audit Education Partnership

Bradley University is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditor's Internal Audit Education Partnership (IAEP) program. We work with members of the Central Illinois Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors to prepare students for careers in internal auditing.

There is a common misconception that internal auditors are focused primarily on accounting. In truth, the profession is much broader than that. Internal auditors review and make recommendations on every aspect of the organization, from developing and examining processes and procedures, confirming the accuracy of information, understanding risk and internal controls to reduce fraud, to improving the organization's effectiveness and more.

About 50 students take one or more of Bradley's internal auditing classes each year. To better serve the needs of these students, the Department of Accounting is developing concentrations in internal auditing for undergraduate and graduate accounting majors as well as a minor in internal auditing for business (non-accounting) students. We expect final approval of these new programs during the Fall 2009 semester.

For further information, please contact Bradley's IAEP coordinator, Dr. Simon Petravick, CIA, CPA, at 309-677-2286 or simonp@bradley.edu.

Students Attend Internal Audit Conference 2009 IAEP Conference

Two accounting majors from Bradley University joined seventy other college students from around the world at the third annual Internal Audit Education Partnership Leadership and Networking Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Conference participants had the opportunity to obtain interviewing and career planning tips from a dozen different internal auditors. They also improved their team work skills by solving cases.

The conference concluded with the opportunity to interview for internships with KPMG and Deloitte.

We look forward to participating in the 2010 conference!!
