Economic Major  

Bradley's Department of Economics offers a major in both the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and in the Foster College of Business Administration.

Bradley's economics course requirements are designed to provide students with an understanding of economic theory, quantitative tools, a specialized understanding of those particular areas of interest in economics, and a broad background in the humanities, physical sciences, and social sciences. Students majoring in Economics must fulfill the following requirements:

ECO 100 Introduction to Economics
Or ECO 221 Principles of Microeconomics
ECO 222 Principles of Macroeconomics
ECO 300 Economics Colloquium for Juniors
ECO 332 Intermediate Microeconomics
ECO 333 Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory
ECO 400 Economics Colloquium for Seniors
ECO 498 Senior Seminar in Economics, Part I
ECO 499 Senior Seminar in Economics, Part II

Economics majors must also take 6 semester hours of Junior/Senior Economics Electives Courses and at least one of the following Heterodox Economics courses:

ECO 313 American Economic History
ECO 345 Comparative Economic Systems
ECO 351 Economic Development
ECO 444 History of Economic Thought

Students majoring in Economics must also take 3 semester hours in Philosophy.

Majors must receive a grade of C or better in Economics 332, 333, and 499. A minimum of 26 semester hours in economics courses and 20 hours at the junior/senior level is required.

All students in the Foster College of Business Administration must also satisfy the University's general education requirements and the Foster College's core business requirements.
