Teaching Interests

Dr. Sattler teaches Principles of Microeconomics, Managerial Economics (undergraduate and graduate), Intermediate Microeconomics, Industrial Organization, and Economics and Law

Research Interests

Dr. Sattler focuses most of his research on firm decision making. His research also analyzes particular industries such as the railroad industry and expert witnesses in the legal market. Appropriate interest rates for discounting to present cash value are also an area of research. Additionally, he researches incentive systems within the context of legal rules.

Other Information

Dr. Sattler has been active the past 18 years consulting with attorneys on economic issues in legal cases. The most common types of cases include wrongful death and injury cases and antitrust cases where the present cash value of economic damages must be calculated.
