Teaching Interests

Dr. Horvath regularly teaches the following undergraduate courses: Liquidity Management, Financial Analysis, Investments, Portfolio Theory, Financial Theory, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Business Policy and Strategy. He occasionally also teaches Quantitative Analysis courses. At the graduate level, he teaches Financial Policy, Financial Strategy, and Business Policy and Strategy.


Research Interests

Dr. Horvath has been published in The Financial Review, The Journal of Finance, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance and Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of Financial Engineering, The Journal of Forensic Economics, The Real Estate Appraiser and Analyst, and Management Accounting. He has given numerous presentations at professional meetings and scholarly gatherings. He has been the Principal Investigator on several grant projects including Merrill Lynch and CEFCU. His primary research areas include securities analysis and markets, decision models, valuation, and discounting.

Other Information

Dr. Horvath regularly conducts full day seminars in financial management and financial planning for non-financial managers. He has also conducted intensive seminars for Caterpillar, Inc. managers and a training program for CEFCU. His community activities include involvement as an officer of and participant in numerous civic groups such as the Pearce Community Center Children's Swim Team, Chillicothe Valley Indians, and the Heart of Illinois United Way Long Range Planning Group. He is also the Chair of the Police Commission for the City of Chillicothe, Illinois.
