Dr. Robert Baer joined Bradley University in 1984. He was Chair of the Department of Marketing from 1988 to 1998, served as Associate Dean for two years, and Interim Dean before being named Dean in March 2001. In 1986, he received Bradley University's most prestigious teaching award for untenured faculty. Professor Baer was previously on the faculty at Miami University where he had received his doctorate in social psychology.

Marketing Management (graduate and undergraduate), Consumer Behavior, and Relationship Marketing

CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Baer's current research interests focus on modeling how consumers complain about their unpleasant experiences and how business organizations respond. Additional interests involve consumer attributional processes, attributional error, and health care marketing. His research has appeared in such publications as Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Advances in Consumer Research, Journal of Satisfaction, Dissatisfaction and Complaining Behavior, Psychology and Marketing, Journal of marketing Theory and Practice and the Journal of Hospital Marketing. Rob is on the editorial review board of three healthcare marketing journals and was co-editor of the Atlantic Marketing Association's Proceedings in 1990 and 1991.

EXPERIENCE

Rob is extensively involved in the Foster College of Business Administration's Center for Executive and Professional Development. He has made numerous executive presentations and has been an instructor in long-term certificate programs, including one for Caterpillar Asia-Pacific in Singapore. Since 1993, he has been involved in the College's programs in Samara, Russia. Dr. Baer has also been a consultant to large and small businesses.
