Dr. Mitch Griffin joined the Bradley University Marketing faculty in fall of 1990. Mitch has previous teaching experience at Southern Illinois University, the University of Minnesota, and Louisiana State University.
CURRENT TEACHING INTERESTSPrinciples of Marketing, Pricing and Product Strategies, Sales Management, Marketing Research, and Advanced Marketing Research. In recognition of his teaching, Dr. Griffin received the Foster College of Business Administration 1994 Midwest Grain Products Inc. Outstanding Teaching Award.
CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
Mitch's research focuses on two issues: (1) consumer satisfaction/ dissatisfaction and (2) consumer reaction to negative events. A significant portion of his recent research has examined these issues in cross-cultural contexts. In his research regarding CS/D, Mitch has examined measurement issues and the functional form of the relationship between disconfirmation and satisfaction. Mitch has investigated several negative events including product liability issues, negative publicity, and salesforce turnover. His research has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Business Research, Journal Of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Satisfaction, Dissatisfaction and Complaining Behavior, Journal of Nonprofit and Public Sector Marketing, and Advances in Consumer Research, and the proceedings of numerous regional and national marketing conferences. Dr. Griffin's research has earned him the 1995 Foster College of Business Administration National Council of Advisors Research Award, the 1995 Bradley University New Faculty Achievement Award for Scholarship, and a number of Best Paper awards at academic conferences.
EXPERIENCE
Dr. Griffin worked in the Governor's Office of the State of Illinois and organized political campaigns for three years. In addition, he has served as a consultant to the City of St. Louis, Caterpillar Inc., and CILCO. Mitch was named a Fulbright Senior Scholar for 1997-98 and taught and conducted research at Samara State Aerospace University and the International Market Institute in Samara, Russia.
