Old friends, new memories

Some 280 Bradley University alumni traveled from all over the country to Chicago last weekend for a family reunion. A Greek family reunion that is, with five generations of fraternity brothers and sorority sisters gathering at Harry Caray’s restaurant in Lombard Saturday to share endless laughs and bask in Bradley spirit.
“Nearly 50 Chi Os arrived one after another and we reminisced fondly about formals, I-weeks, pledging, calling out, pledge classes, the Field House, basketball, pledge moms and daughters, pledge pranks, and why we are so connected to Bradley and Chi Omega all these years later,” said Laura Herlovich ’79, who traveled from Las Vegas to attend the event.
The All Greek Exchange and Reunion was the first event of its kind, but Lori Winters Fan ’80, executive director of Alumni Relations, expects the phenomenal turnout and outpouring of pride among Greek alumni will inspire future gatherings.
“I’ve been at Bradley for more than 13 years, and I can honestly say that this was by far the biggest and most successful alumni event I’ve attended,” said Fan.

Representing Bradley classes from as far back as the 1950s, the multigenerational crowd included members of 26 Greek organizations. With the largest contingent participating, the members of Chi Omega sorority each received a gift every Bradley alumnus would relish – a loaf of Avanti’s Gondola bread.
