GAME: The game is played in the gymnasium, using a standard indoor soccer ball. The game consists of two (2), 20 minute running time halves. The clock will only stop at the referee’s discretion in the case of an injury or an unusual delay. Game time is forfeit time. Teams must have four (4) players present to start a game and to avoid a forfeit. Overtime will be three (3) minutes in length and any additional overtimes will consist of a three (3) person shoot out. The goal is 6 feet high, 12 feet wide, and 5 feet deep, and is placed against the walls at each end of the playing area.

GOALS: Goals are scored when the entire ball crosses the goal line.

OFF SIDES: There are no off sides in indoor soccer.

PENALTIES: Penalties are called and time served in a penalty box for delay of game, unethical conduct (both two minute penalties), and violent conduct (ejection). The penalized player may return to the floor immediately if the opposing team scores a goal while it has an advantage.

Minor infractions include: 1) A goal keeper’s throw going over the half court line without first bouncing, hitting a side wall, or touching a player from either team. 2) Offenses involving a player kicking the ball a second time before the ball has been played by another player (kickoff, free kick, corner kick, and goal kick if the ball has passed out of the penalty area). 3) The ball hitting the ceiling or an over head obstruction.

MAJOR INFRACTIONS: Major infractions are penalized by a direct kick, and depending on the severity of the infraction, time in the penalty box. Major infractions include: 1) Offenses committed with the hands or arms (handling the ball, holding, using hands or arms on an opponent in order to reach the ball, pushing, and striking). 2) Offenses committed with the feet and legs (kicking, tripping, use of the knee, and jumping the opponent). 3) Offenses committed with the body (charging from behind, charging an opponent who has both feet off the floor). 4) Offenses involving the goal keeper (touching or charging the goal keep).

DELAY OF GAME: A delay of game penalty is called if: 1) A player deliberately puts the ball out of play. 2) There are too many players on the floor. 3) The goal keep carries the ball for more than 4 steps, or holds it for more than 5 seconds. 4) Defending players consistently line up closer than 10 feet for direct or indirect kicks.

PENALTY KICK: A penalty kick is awarded to a player when a defender intentionally commits an offense in the penalty area (25' x 30'). The kick is taken from the penalty spot (24' directly in front of the goal and : 1) Only the player taking the kick and the goal keep may play the ball. 2) All other players must be outside the penalty area. 3) The player taking the kick must kick the ball forward and may not play the ball a second time.

ELIGIBILITY: 1) All players must put their name, ID number or social security number on the score sheet of every game they play in. 2) Players are only allowed to play on one team with the exception that players may only play on two team if one is either a men’s or women’s team and the other one is a corec team. 3) A maximum of two (2) ex collegiate players per team.
