Print version This tutorial demonstrates how to configure Entourage 2004 to the Exchange server. You will be making configuration changes to three catagories:
Exchange server
Directory Access (Global Address List)
Public Folder access
At the end of the setup, you want to customize Entourage for these settings:
Turn Off Display Pane
View/Preview Pane/None
Change Inbox Display Grouping:
View/Arrange By/Show in Groups (Remove Check)
Increase Font Size of Inbox: (Size 12 or higher)
Entourage/Preferences/Font
If this a first time setup, click the Entourage icon on the dock to start. (Can also be launched from Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Entourage
Exchange server:
Select Accounts from the Tools menu
Click the Exchange tab, then New.
(For POP or IMAP, select the Mail tab, then click New)
Configure the account manually:
Click Configure Account Manually to begin setup. This ensures the connection will be correct.
Fill out the Account Settings as displayed. Replace username with actual user information.
Click Directory tab when finished.
Directory Access (Global Address List)
Directory contains information to point Entourage to the campus directory (Thats Global Address List in Outlook)
Configure LDAP as displayed.
When finished, click the Advanced tab.
Public Folder access
The Advanced tab will configure Entourage to display Exchange Public folders. Configure as displayed.
Click OK to begin account synchronization.
Entourage begins synchronizing to the Exchange account. This can take ten minutes or longer. Be patient.
When finished, the Folder List will display Exchange information. Messages can be read and sent at this time.
