Network Registration |
| Begins Tuesday, June 21, 2005 |
NOTE: You must be on campus to register. If you are
away, you can register when you return to campus. |
Network registration is the process of placing your computer into the firewall zone appropriate for your level of responsibility. If you have access to sensitive information, you will be placed into a high-level zone. Computer labs and public use computers and printers will be in a public zone suitable for the majority of uses. Students will have their own security zone that provides the resources necessary to fulfill academic requirements.
|
|
Registration Begins June 21, 2005 |
| |
Implementation begins Tuesday June 21, 2005 with the residence hall buildings and will roll-out to the other buildings across campus beginning July 12, 2005.
See the roll-out schedule below for date your building is registered. |

How do I register student support computers in my department? - By logging onto NetReg from the computer. Select the option specifying the computer is for student use.
Does this affect network printers too? - Network printers will be registered by IRT staff. Note: Once registration has occurred and you are unable to print to a network printer, first turn the unit off, wait ten seconds and turn it back on.
