Configuring Mac OS X (all versions) for Guest or Unsecure Wireless


Click the wireless icon menu and select Other...


Enter the network SSID:
Type exactly as shown: network name is cap-sensitive

For Guest Access:

 

Enter Guest in the Network Name space and click OK.

Unsecure Access:

 

Enter Unsecure in the Network Name space and click OK.

Unsecure Access requires network registration.


It is now safe to open a web browser or other internet application.


 

 

 

Notes:

  1. The Apple wireless icon acts as a strength meter becomes active when a signal is detected. The more bars lit up, the stronger the signal.

  2. By joining Unsecure, you will be taken to the network registration page the first time you open Internet Explorer or other web browser.

  3. Unsecure is available to Bradley students, faculty and staff with an active network ID and password.

  4. Guest wireless is available for campus visitors bringing their own wireless equipped computers. Standard HTTP(S) access is available for web based email and general browsing. Guest is not encrypted using the 802.1x protocol.
