Business communications is a vital part of day to day business operations in all companies throughout the world.  The effects of poor communications hits the bottom line of companies on a daily basis.  Being understood and understanding others has a critical impact on the profitability of a company. People are communicating verbally and non-verbally in every transaction they perform.  The value of effective communication can not be overemphasized.  Business deals are lost every day due to poor communications.  In addition to lost business deals, millions of dollars are spent to correct problems directly related to poor business communications. 

There are three types of communication used today: Oral, Written and Electronic.

Oral communications is the most primative form of communication and continues to be the form most often used.  Speaking, listening and nonverbal cues all play an important role and are all needed in order to successfully to communicate.
