ReportsReports are most often defined
as written, factual accounts that objectively communicate information about some aspect of business. Reports can be printed on paper or distributed electronically, but the goal of writing a report is always to make
information as clear and convenient as possible. Time is precious to every reader, so the writer must present information geared towards the audience's needs. Though reports can come in many different formats, the two
main reports discussed will be short reports and long reports. Short reports are generally written in four formats: preprinted form, letter, memo, and manuscript. They generally do not exceed more than ten pages.
Long reports can be either informational or analytical, and may range from a few pages to several hundred pages. More information on both short reports and long reports can be found on the following pages . Short Reports
