My professional interests include number
theory, discrete mathematics, mathematics education, and (perhaps most
importantly) the history of mathematics.
James Glaishier (1848 - 1928) said
"I am sure that no subject loses more than mathematics by any attempt to dissociate it from its history."
I'm a strong believer in this quote and my approach to teaching mathematics reflects that interest. Historical topics are introduced throughout my classes at all levels.

Aside from mathematics my interests include running and yoga. I'm a member of the Illinois Valley Striders Running Club (http://www.ivs.org/).
