WAYNE EVENS, Ph.D. 
Wayne Evens earned his MSW from the Iowa School of Social Work
and his Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Iowa.
He has taught at the University of Iowa School of Social Work, Southern
Illinois University, the University of North Dakota, and is currently
serving as director of the social work program at Bradley University.
He also serves as U.S.
director of Russian-American
Summer University,
a program to educate Russian social service workers.
He
has practiced as a therapist, a community organizer and served as director
of a drug treatment and crisis line director. His publications are in the
area of program evaluation. He has published on therapeutic techniques in
Russian journals.
He
was selected to be the Ron Federico Memorial lecturer at this year's 20'h
annual Baccalaureate Social Work Conference in Pittsburgh, PA.
His lecture was entitled, "Bridges start with a vision and end with a
structure".
Wayne is currently
involved in developing a sociology/social service knowledge community
within Peoria Next, and developing a grant to disseminate experimentally
proven depression treatments with the U of I Medical School and Counseling
and Family Services.
Since
coming to Bradley, he has guided the Social Work Program through
accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education.
