Alpha Kappa Delta is an International Sociology Honor Society. Members are selected on the basis of superior scholarship and serious interest in sociology.

The goal of Alpha Kappa Delta is to promote human welfare through the association of a fellowship group interested in developing scientific knowledge that may be applied to the solution of social problems. The motto of the society is : "To study humankind for the purpose of service". In the last analysis, we believe that the purpose of science is to improve people's adjustments to the physical, biological and cultural environment.
