Student Affairs - Assistant Director, Smith Career Center (Re-advertisement, June 2013)

Bradley University seeks an Assistant Director for the Smith Career Center to provide career planning advisement and full-time job and internship search assistance to students of the Foster College of Business.  This full-time position will also develop effective relationships with faculty from the Foster College of Business, including the MBA Program. 

The Assistant Director will:

  • Work one-on-one and in groups in advising students to reach their career goals.
  • Be expected to identify and develop relationships with employers to hire Bradley University students for internship and full-time career opportunities.
  • Assist with marketing to employers, conduct employer site visits, plan seminars, and coordinate special events for business students and employers. 
  • Participate in cross-collaboration teams within the career center.

A Bachelor’s degree and experience in career counseling, career services, human resources, or related field are required.  A Master’s degree in career counseling, career services, student affairs, human resources, or a related field is preferred. Demonstrated experience advising college students or clients pursuing business and/or experience with recruiting in a college setting and knowledge of career/employment and career development issues is also preferred. Qualified candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to conduct employer visits.  The successful candidate should possess superior skills in presentation development and delivery; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; work effectively with culturally diverse groups of people; demonstrate an ability to effectively work in a team setting; and successfully manage multiple high level tasks.
